MEN ARE BETTER MULTITASKERS THAN WOMEN:

Working mothers may have to juggle more tasks than their husbands, but the long-held belief that women are better than man at multitasking is a myth, according to new Swedish research.. On the contrary, the results of our study show that men are better at multitasking than women,Timo Maentylae, a psychology professor at stockholm university, said. Men are sometimes better than women at handling multiple tasks simultaneously, but the performance gap is correlated to the female menstrual cycle, according to his study, to be published in US journal Psychological science. In line with previous research, Men and Women with good so-calld working memory were also better than others at multitasking. However, Maentylae found that the ability to combine several different tasks at once  was also linked to spatial ability which, for women, is linked to their menstrual phase.

Tallest man in the world.

Robert Pershing Wadlow (1918 – 1940) was a man who, to this day, is the tallest person in medical history for whom there is irrefutable evidence. He is often known as the “Alton Giant” because of his Alton, Illinois hometown. Wadlow was noted for having the largest and broadest hands ever in recorded history being capable to hide a 2-litre bottle of soda in them easily.
Wadlow reached 8 feet 11.1 inches (2.72 m) in height and weighed 490 pounds (220 kg) at his death. His great size and his continued growth in adulthood was due to hypertrophy of his pituitary gland which results in an abnormally high level of human growth hormone. He showed no indication of an end to his growth even at the time of his death.

LONGEST RIVER IN THE WORLD

The Amazon River of South America is the largest river in the world with a total river flow greater than the next ten largest rivers combined. The Amazon, which has the largest drainage basin in the world, accounts for approximately one-fifth of the world’s total river flow. In its upper stretches the Amazon river is called Apurímac (in Peru) and Solimões (in Brazil).
During the wet season, parts of the Amazon exceed 190 KM (120 mi) in width. Because of its vast dimensions, it is sometimes called The River Sea. At no point is the Amazon crossed by bridges. This is not because of its huge dimensions; in fact, for most of its length, the Amazon’s width is well within the capability of modern engineers to bridge. However, the bulk of the river flows through tropical rainforest, where there are few roads and even fewer cities, so there is no need for crossings.
While the Amazon is the largest river in the world by most measures, the current consensus within the geographic community holds that the Amazon is the second longest river, just slightly shorter than the Nile.

DENGUE AND PREVENTION

The weather is playing spoil sport and this is leading to an upsurge in all kinds of illnesses. The latest one doing the rounds is dengue. The painful viral infection, also known as break bone fever, is back with a vengeance. So much so, that people with lowered levels of immunity have succumbed to this disease in the past weeks. However, doctors claim 90 percent of the cases can be treated at home and no need hospitalisation.  Dengue is caused by a virus and is a communicable disease. It is caused by a mosquito bite, and is transmitted by various mosquitoes of  the aedes category. The biggest problem in cities right now is lack of hygiene and stagnating water in open spaces. Since there is little or nothing one can do to stop them, its best to avoid places that are extremely dirty or that have pools of stagnant water. Dengue is usually caused by a daytime mosquito so don't ignore the ones buzzing around you in the day.. Stay safe and happy.
